Australian Crawl Reunite After 40 Years

Three founding members will stand together on stage for the first time in over 40 years. They are James Reyne, Simon Binks and David Reyne. Also on stage are John Watson (Australian Crawl 1983 to 1986), Brett Kingman, Josh Owen, Andrew McIvor, Sean Johnson, Melinda Jackson and Nicole Kurta.
The story began on the beaches of the Mornington Peninsula in 1979. First, the band played a gig for the local board riders’ club. Then they loaded up a couple of old Holdens and headed up the east coast. Between 1978 and 1986, they racked up chart hits that are now part of the national soundtrack. As Simon Binks says, “Who would have thought that this far down the track three original members would be sharing the same stage once again.”
Red Hot Summer Tour Co-Headliner: Men At Work
Men At Work formed in Melbourne in 1979. They went on to Grammy-winning, multi-platinum success. Their hits include ‘Down Under’, ‘Who Can It Be Now’, ‘Be Good Johnny’, ‘Overkill’ and ‘It’s a Mistake’.
Frontman Colin Hay now plays in Ringo Starr’s All Starr Band. Since 2019, he has also toured the Men At Work catalogue with a band of LA musicians. As a result, fans can expect the full set of hits. Colin remembers the summer of 1981 as his favourite Men At Work tour. Now he is thrilled to return 45 years later and share the stage with “old friends and new”.
