Sapori Italian Restaurant, Clear Island Waters
Authentic Italian Restaurant · Gold Coast
I’ve eaten at a lot of “Italian” restaurants on the Gold Coast that charge a small fortune for average food. Sapori isn’t one of them. This is the real deal, and it doesn’t break the bank either.
Why I Keep Coming Back to Sapori
The wood-fired pizza is proper Napoli-style — thin, blistered base, cooked in a custom oven, none of that soggy-middle nonsense you get elsewhere. The sauces taste like someone’s actual nonna has been slow-cooking them all day, because that’s basically what’s happening. Every dish feels authentic, not “Italian-inspired.” Fresh ingredients, a properly curated Italian wine list, and recipes that have clearly been passed down rather than invented for a menu. Nothing feels rushed, and nothing feels like it’s cutting corners to hit a price point.
What really stands out is the value. Portions are generous, quality is high, and you leave feeling like your money actually went somewhere — which is rare on the Gold Coast these days. You’re not paying Surfers Paradise prices for it, and you’re not getting Surfers Paradise portions either.
Easy to Get To
Sapori is tucked away in Clear Island Waters, just a short drive from Robina, Broadbeach, Mermaid Waters, Carrara and Surfers Paradise. It’s worth the trip even if you’re coming from further out. They serve the full menu — antipasti, pasta, wood-fired pizza, mains and dessert — whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeaway.
What to Order at Sapori

Menu Highlights at Sapori
Margherita
Simple and done right — red base, fior di latte, basil, a good drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, wood-fired to perfection.
Carbonara
Creamy, peppery, pancetta done properly. One of the best versions I’ve had outside of Italy.
Half Metre Antipasto Board
Perfect for sharing. 18-month aged Parma prosciutto, marinated olives, arancini, bruschetta and burrata caprese — a generous spread for a very reasonable price.
Spaghetti Marinara
Loaded with mussels, clams, prawns, calamari and Moreton Bay bugs in a white wine and Napoli sauce. Generous seafood, not the stingy portion you get elsewhere.
The Bottom Line
If you want proper Italian food on the Gold Coast without paying through the nose for it, Sapori is the spot. It’s authentic, it’s generous, and it’s genuinely good value — the kind of place you keep going back to, not just the kind you try once. Bring the family, bring a date, or just turn up hungry. Either way, you’ll leave full and happy, and your wallet won’t be complaining either.
