Five Generations Strong — The Family Behind the SpectacleAerial acrobat performing above the crowd at Ashton's Great Australian Circus

This kind of fearlessness doesn’t happen by accident. Jan Ashton-Rodriguez is fifth-generation circus royalty, born into a family that has lived and breathed the big top for over a hundred years. Her husband, Brasil “Serifin” Sanchez-Rodriguez, spent his career as one of Spain’s most celebrated circus stars before the two of them joined forces to launch Circus Xsaiva in 2001, then Ashton Entertainment in 2010.

Since 2017, their daughter Chantel Ashton-Rodriguez has taken the reins, driving the business forward across circus productions, circus arts, tour management, and large-scale corporate events. Under her lead, the family legacy isn’t just preserved — it’s pushed harder, faster, and further than ever.

Tradition Meets Technology — No Apologies

Ashton Entertainment runs on a simple rule: respect where you come from, but never stop pushing forward. Every performer and technician on this tour blends old-school circus discipline with cutting-edge staging and production tech, creating a show that feels both timeless and brand new. This crew has chased that balance across regional towns and cities all over Australia for more than a century, turning up wherever audiences are ready to be amazed and leaving behind memories that stick for life.

That’s the real power of circus — it pulls people from every background and every corner of the world together under one roof, chasing one goal: giving the audience something they’ll never forget.

Why Ashton’s Great Australian Circus Is a Must-Visit This Winter

This is more than an afternoon out. Ashton’s Great Australian Circus is this family’s love letter to Australian entertainment history — outback grit fused with big top magic, performed by the very people who built it and have nothing left to prove. Miss it, and you’re missing the Gold Coast’s boldest live show of the year.

Tickets start at $15. Grab yours before the big top packs up and moves on.
